• Oliver Lathrop was born July 22, 1831in Clark County, Illinios, and died November 14, 1895 in Baxter Springs, Kansas. He married Sarah Ellen Little August 22, 1861 in Douglas co. Ill., daughter of Joseph Little and Jahaliah Decker. . She was born September 24, 1839 in Rush co. Indiana, and died October 12, 1928 in Baxter Springs, Kansas. Oliver was the son of Artemus Lathrop.

  Notes for Oliver Lathrop:
  Oliver's obit which states he died at 3 o'clock on Thursday morning Nov. 14, 1895 age about sixty years. He had heart trouble for about a month. He was born in Illinois but the past 9 years had lived in area (Baxter Springs Ks.) Buried in Lowell cemetery. Survivors were his wife, eight children, six boys and two girls.

  We visited with a relative of Almon Frank Lathrop, but her father Charles died when she was a child and her mother took her to live with her family so she knew very little about the Lathrops. She lived at the time in Baxter Springs Ks. Hope this is of some help. Mary Hand.

  His wife Sarah Ellen Obit died Oct. 12, 1928 --born Sept 24, 1839 daughter of Joseph and Jahiliah Little in Rush co. Indiana. Married - Aug. 22, 1861 in Douglas co. Ill. Lived in Ill. where her 10 children were born. Moving to Cherokee co. Ks. in 1885. Survived by a sister, Melinda Kinder of Hobbs Ind. and a brother William Little of Windfall Ind. Buried in Lowell cemetery

  2. Rillia J. Lathrop, born 1863 and must have died before 1880. She is on the 1870 census as seven years old.

  5. Joseph A. Lathrop, born 1868.
  6. +William H. Lathrop, born 1870; died 1928.
  7. Mary O. Lathrop bornin 1872 She married Stacell.
