This photo is from he Stars and Strips archives. It was found and ordered by
109th veteran Al Burks. This photo shows a USAF C-130 doing LAPES
(Low Altitude Parachute Extraction System) as the load is about to hit
the runway surface.
The photo was used in several publications in 1968.
In one, the caption was "the 109th Quartermaster Company (Air Delivery)
had a team of men on the ground at Khe Sanh to retrieve the AD riggings".
The public relations photo was taken by a SP4 from 1st Logistical Command.
