Joel
Williams
Joel
Williams
(unknown) was born Abt. 1795 in North Carolina, and
died unknown. He married UNKNOWN but it is known she
was born in Alabama. She must have died before the
1850 Census since not wife is listed and not children
are born to Joel after that date. The first documents
for Joel are in Mississippi.
The
family migrated to Myrtle Springs Van Zandt Co. Texas
about 1853. It is not know if all of Joel's family
ended up in Van Zandt Co. Texas. Millie Williams,
I believe, a older daughter of Joel Williams married
John C. Yoes in Lauderdale Co. Miss on Jan.1,
1840.
Mississippi
Land Patients from 1835 to 1841.
Isaac
Christmas and Joel Williams had a long relationship
before migrating to Van Zandt County Texas together
in 1853,

Mississippi. He died in probably Van Zandt County

Notes
for Millie Williams:
While Millie was not on the 1850 census of
Joel Williams household I believe that Millie
was one of Joel Williams older children gone
from home by the 1850 Mississippi Census.
This is based on the fact that Joel purchased
land with Millie's husband John C. Yoes.
Notes
for John C Yoes:
John C. Yoes moved to Van Zandt Count TX about
1852 and remarried,
Child
of Millie Williams and John Yoes is:

for John H. Williams:
1. Francis used the male spelling for her name.
2.1899 CSA pension application for wife
"Francis" said John died in
1896 and she had lived at Myrtle Springs for the
past 45 years.
3. She states they "married 1st
March 1854 Van Zandt Co." TX.
4 John served in Co. D 2nd Texas 1862
and was captured at Vicksburg. Paroled there and
came home and was detailed to government carrier/office

Note:
Because of the "At Home" comment
on the census I think it's very
possible that they may had a few children
already gone from home.
On the 1990 Census Millie claims to have
been born Jan 1862.
Family always thought it was 1863.
