Joel Williams

Joel Williams (unknown) was born Abt. 1795 in North Carolina, and died unknown. He married UNKNOWN but it is known she was born in Alabama. She must have died before the 1850 Census since not wife is listed and not children are born to Joel after that date. The first documents for Joel are in Mississippi.

The family migrated to Myrtle Springs Van Zandt Co. Texas about 1853. It is not know if all of Joel's family ended up in Van Zandt Co. Texas. Millie Williams, I believe, a older daughter of Joel Williams married John C. Yoes in Lauderdale Co. Miss on Jan.1, 1840.

      Notes for Millie Williams:
While Millie was not on the 1850 census of Joel Williams household I believe that Millie was one of Joel Williams older children gone from home by the 1850 Mississippi Census. This is based on the fact that Joel purchased land with Millie's husband John C. Yoes.
      Notes for John C Yoes:
John C. Yoes moved to Van Zandt Count TX about 1852 and remarried,
